The Museum accepts artwork submissions to give artists of Latinx and African descent the opportunity to have their work viewed by the Curatorial staff. To submit your work, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. The Curatorial Department reviews artist submissions on a quarterly basis.
Submissions will only be reviewed and considered if they include the following:
Images may be submitted as jpegs or optimized PDFs. Individual image files should not be larger than 1MB. Please submit only up to 10 images.
Film, video, and sound works should be uploaded to Vimeo. You can create a basic account for free. Vimeo supports the following file types: MP4, MOV, WMV, AVI, and FLV. We recommend compressing video prior to upload.
2-3 videos only, 3-5 minutes in length
Please include an artist statement describing the scope of your practice and projects.
Please include you resume or CV.
Studio Museum 127 and the Museum offices are temporarily closed. We are not accepting mail in submissions at this time.
Please do not send original artwork or unique objects. It is requested that artists submit packages including the following:
10–12 images of artwork. Images may come in the form of slides, printouts or digital photographs on a CD. Film and video work may also come on a DVD. Please do not send original artwork or unique objects.
Artist statement. Please include an artist statement describing the scope of your practice and projects.
Resume or CV. Be sure to provide your resume or CV.
Self-addressed, stamped envelope. Please be sure to include sufficient postage so that the Museum may return the entire package. The Museum is not able to retain any submissions and cannot return materials submitted without return postage or packaging. The Museum will return the submission within four months.
