Construction Update for the week of March 23, 2023.

What is Happening During the Next Week (March 23–March 31, 2023) – 125th Street

  • North Façade Panel Installation has completed and the crane has left 125th Street.

 

What is Happening During the Next Week (March 18–March 25, 2023) – 124th Street:

  • Interior work continues, which includes material deliveries; constructing the masonry walls on the east and west facades; electrical, plumbing and other MEP installation work.
  • Preparation of the site for the arrival of the crane.
  • Regular work hours 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
  • After hours masonry and drywall work will take place in the interior of the building on Saturday, April 1 from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
  • South façade panel installation will begin the week of April 3. When panels are hoisted, pedestrian traffic will briefly be delayed until the panel is safely in the building structure. The work schedule of the crane will be 8:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m., interior work and deliveries begin at 7:00 a.m.

What To Expect:

  • Regular working hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Note that contractors may mobilize on site approximately 30 to 45 minutes before work commences.
  • Although contractors carefully stage construction activities to minimize disruption to the surrounding community, the nature of construction work is such that some disruptions will occur. Expect some noise, vibration, dust, and other related impacts due to construction. The project adheres to a comprehensive clean construction program and mitigation protocols, including dust control and noise mitigation. Noise mitigation requirements are posted on the site construction fence and are monitored regularly by the Department of Environmental Protection.

  • The 125th Street façade panel installation phase is anticipated to complete in Spring 2023.
  • This work is scheduled at night to mitigate the impact on pedestrian traffic, neighboring businesses, and bus traffic. Work schedule is 9:30 pm-5:30 am.

    • North facade panel installation by crane: When panels are hoisted, pedestrian traffic will briefly be delayed until the panel is safely in the building structure.
    • Moderate noise may occur on 125th Street during this phase of construction.
    • The 125th Street facade panel installation phase is anticipated to be completed in Spring 2023.
    • This work is scheduled at night to mitigate the impact on pedestrian traffic, neighboring businesses, and bus traffic. The work schedule is 10:30 pm–5:30 am.

 

  • What is Happening During the Next Week (February 27–March 5, 2023) – 124th Street:

    • A concrete truck and pump will pour curbs and beams on the roof. This work will be scheduled for late morning/midday one day during the week of February 27.
    • Interior work continues: Material deliveries; construction of masonry walls on the east and west facades; electrical, plumbing, and other MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) installation work.
    • Regular work hours are 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

  • Regular working hours are 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday. After-hours work on 125th Street only will take place from 10:30 pm to 5:30 am. Note that contractors may mobilize on site approximately thirty to forty-five minutes before work commences.
  • Although contractors carefully stage construction activities to minimize disruption to the surrounding community, the nature of construction work is such that some disruptions will occur. Expect some noise, vibration, dust, and other related impacts due to construction. The project adheres to a comprehensive clean construction program and mitigation protocols, including dust control and noise mitigation. Noise mitigation requirements are posted on the site construction fence and are monitored regularly by the Department of Environmental Protection.
